Mendoza sunsets have their own special beauty, particularly in spring. Incredible skies, the perfect climate for sitting outside and incomparable landscapes replete with mountains and vineyards. If, in addition to all that, you take into account the opportunity to try some of the best wines the region has to offer with music and friends, it’s a perfect combination. Here we share a dream selection of some of the most enticing Mendoza sunsets.

In Agrelo, 18 miles from the City of Mendoza, Bodega Séptima present their exclusive season of sunset viewings on Thursdays and long weekends. From October 12 onward, sunsets at Séptima offer a unique experience accompanying the sunset with top quality wines, tapas and music from DJ Martín Guerrero. The evening shares the best the winery has to offer with the natural surroundings and excellent views of the Cordón del Plata range.

There are two options: Evenings with a glass of María Codorníu; a glass of Confiado Serie 4 Malbec and a glass of Desconfiado vermouth, and Prestige Evenings which include a glass of María Codorníu Método Tradicional; a glass of Séptima 10 Barricas Gran Reserva (at the guest’s choice) and a glass of Séptima Tardío Gewurztraminer or María Codorníu Dulce. More Mendoza sunsets. In Gualtallary, Tupungato – 50 miles from the City of Mendoza – Andeluna’s concept is very tempting: “Evenings at Andeluna” is a relaxed option during which one can enjoy the sun setting in the mountains accompanied by a Deconstructed Menu served in the winery’s gardens. Of course, it comes accompanied by some of the best wines in the house collection. Those who’ve been, highly recommend the experience due to the incredible colors that develop as the evening progresses in the Andes. In the Luján de Cuyo area, Bodega A16 offers a set of unmissable sunset menus accompanied by the best electronic music and some of their most interesting wines. During their summer hours (6PM to midnight), on Saturdays they greet visitors with a tasting that includes a glass of wine, a craft cocktail and fillet steak. In Los Sauces, Tunuyán (51 miles away from the capital of Mendoza), another wonderful option is that of Giménez Rilli. At the family vineyard, the sunset experience reflects the care and dedication they put into each of their wines. The Evening menu has four options to try: Buenos Hermanos Torrontés; Buenos Hermanos Bonarda; Buenos Hermanos Merlot and Espumante, each of which is accompanied by tapas, stews and empanadas from the kitchen. Also in Tunuyán and after welcoming the spring with the SoloContigo Wine Fest on Saturday, September 23 – which includes three glasses of wine and tastings of food, art, and music at the original winery-house located in The Vines complex in Los Chacayes, SoloContigo allows one to make exclusive sunset reservations. Organized to suit the needs of individual guests, evenings at SoloContigo don’t just allow one to appreciate the best views of the Uco Valley, they also include a picnic in the vineyards with a cheese plate, charcuterie, homemade empanadas and a tasting of 3 or 4 of the house’s wines. Las Palapas is without a doubt one of Mendoza’s most popular events. The new season, known as La Aldea Mágica 23/24, is an attraction for locals and tourists alike. as their description goes, “In a unique environment, we make a connection with each sunset,” and it’s right on the mark. On the grounds of the Gran Potrerillos hotel, in front of the eponymous dam at the foot of the Andes, Las Palapas has to be one of the coolest events of the season.

From September to December, each event has its own host musician (the full line-up is available here) to dance to in a dream-like landscape while one samples gastronomic delights, craft cocktails and beers. The party, created by five friends looking for a picturesque spot in which to get together in the open air during the Pandemic, has become one of the highlights of the social calendar.
