Do you know which winery restaurants have been awarded a Michelin star in Mendoza?

The second edition of the MICHELIN Guide Buenos Aires & Mendoza 2025 confirmed what many lovers of wine and food already knew: Mendoza wineries have become the homes of world class haute cuisine. Four winery restaurants – Angélica Cocina Maestra, Casa Vigil, Riccitelli Bistró and Zonda Cocina de Paisaje – were awarded a MICHELIN star for their culinary excellence, successfully combining wine, local identity and a contemporary approach to Argentine cuisine.

Angélica Cocina Maestra (Bodega Catena Zapata)

Located in one of the most iconic wineries in the country in an imposing Mayan-style pyramid, this restaurant was one of the big new entries in the Guide. Under the creative leadership of Josefina Diana and Juan Manuel Feijoo, Angélica offers a “Wine First” approach in which the dishes are designed around the vineyard’s wines.

The cooking is technical, vibrant and profoundly Mendozan: working with products from their organic vegetable garden, they reproduce unmodified local seeds and compensate for their carbon footprint by planting native forests. Their responsible philosophy also earned them a green MICHELIN star thanks to their commitment to sustainability.

Casa Vigil (Bodega Aleanna)

In the heart of Chachingo, Casa Vigil invites you to a sensory experience that brings together the earth, wine, literature and fire. And of course an unforgettable experience at a Michelin-starred winery restaurant.

Inspired by The Divine Comedy, the journey begins in hell and ends up in paradise where flavors celebrate friends, lovers and ancestral memories.

The kitchen – run by chef Iván Azar – is based around family recipes and supplied by a generous vegetable garden cultivated in harmony with natural cycles under the initiative of Proyecto Labrar, which promotes a continuous relationship with the earth, its fruits and people.

Casa Vigil is also a place to celebrate: they host the Tomato Festival where producers, Argentine cooks and guests from Latin America come together to honor the fruit and its history.

Wine, of course, takes center stage. The creations of oenologist Alejandro Vigil (El Enemigo and El Gran Enemigo, labels that have earned worldwide prestige) bring added character and emotion to every experience.

Casa Vigil is more than a restaurant that serves excellent wine and food: it’s art, a culture, an expression of the land. A combination of hospitality and refinement that justifies each visit.

With an approach that makes the terroir the focal point of each dish, Chef Juan Ventureyra leads a project that establishes a dialogue with the winery: creative freedom, Mendoza identity and absolute respect for the earth. At  Riccitelli Bistró, each dish is built on seasonal vegetables accompanied by proteins from sustainably farmed, local suppliers.

In addition to their MICHELIN Star, Riccitelli Bistró renewed their Green Star thanks to their ecologically-responsible approach.

The menu is a vegetable journey with seasonal products and a range of fermentations paired with Riccitelli’s natural, unfiltered labels.

With an open kitchen and menu based on fire and ancestral techniques, Zonda reinterpret Cuyo’s culinary traditions with a contemporary sensibility.

Their products are supplied by small producers from across the region and each dish is designed to harmonize with the elegance and freshness of the establishment’s wines.

Don’t miss out on the lamb cooked in embers with local vegetables and white wine from old vines in an edible garden that changes according to the season.

Mendoza, capital of wine and haute cuisine

The fact that four winery restaurants have been awarded MICHELIN stars doesn’t just consolidate Mendoza’s place as a wine capital, it also positions it as an international tourist destination. In these spaces, wine and cookery are a celebration of the land and the people who work and transform it.

It’s now well-established: travelling to Mendoza isn’t just an oenological experience, it’s also an invitation to enjoy the best of Argentina’s new haute cuisine.
